Cardiff were very much like Birmingham last season; slow to make an impact until it was too late to make a difference. They may have been in a tight fight with Sheffield Wednesday for the remaining play-off spot, but they left it hard for themselves with some sloppy head results towards the end of the season (winning just 1 game in the last 7). This season, Cardiff will look to better on their solid 8th place finish, and make a return to the Premier League. They will have to rely on their home form, as away from the Welsh capital, they aren’t always at their best. The likes of Whittingham, Craig Noone and Icelandic captain Arun Gunnarsson should all be key to a promotion push, but they are lacking strength in depth, which could be a concern as the season goes on. A mid-table finish looks about right unless they can sign some good players, and get off to a good start.
Last Season’s Finish; 8th

Predicted Finish; 11th
